A millet hull pillow is more comfortable than a buckwheat pillow!
Millet pillows vs. buckwheat: Like buckwheat hulls, millet hulls are the outer part of a grain that must be removed in order for people to eat the grain. Millet hulls are round, move easier,
and are softer than buckwheat. Buckwheat hulls are triangular and stay put better than millet hulls but they’re HARD and CRUNCHY. Therefore they’re great for sitting cushions and back supports – but NOT sleeping pillows! Millet hull pillows are much softer and more comfortable for sleeping. Your face is sensitive and accordingly needs softness! Organic millet pillows are soft yet firm at the same time and don’t make crunchy noises like buckwheat! For MOST people millet hulls are far more comfortable! Buckwheat hulls hurt my ears! Therefore, I only make and sell millet pillows. When it comes to a millet hull pillow vs buckwheat, millet is far superior!
In your YouTube video on the same subject, you mentioned that millet hulls also create dust but that your cases contain the dust. Are you sure of that? Maybe since millet hulls are much lighter in color, you can’t see the dust permeating the cover.
I’ve used buckwheat hull pillows for over 4 years and as the buckwheat hulls wear, a dark dust is created that eventually permeates the case containing the hulls and soils the protective pillow cover I have over the case. I emailed the vendor asking how to remove the dust and I was told to sift the hulls. I’ve done that and it’s a tedious, time consuming task and the dust gets everywhere even though I use a large flexible plastic tote to hold over while sifting the hulls.
I hate the dust so much that I’m now considering going back to memory foam pillows.
Millet hull dust stays in the case pretty well because the twill I use is very tight. Millet dust, because it’s not black, won’t stain like buckwheat hulls – although I’ve not seen that before. If millet hull dust did permeate through the inner case AND the outer case too (extremely unlikely) it would only be visible against a dark surface.
